Brief Description about the Project
The study is conceptualized to address some of the knowledge gaps and come up with a comprehensive assessment of climate change related health burden for near future. The broad objective is to provide evidence for strategizing climate actions and protect the health of the Indian population from climate stressors. This study will develop downscaled emission-tagged exposure data for climate hazards (various air pollutants, heat and other weather extremes) for the past (2000-2025) and future (2030-2050) in India. It will Elucidate the changes in exposure to air pollution, heat, and weather extremes due to climate variability and feedback. Important targets are to develop India-specific exposure-risk functions for climate hazards to prioritize climate actions; assess health benefits and trade-offs for various climate actions, targeting energy and non-energy sectors; identify protective effects of green and blue space, changes in dietary patterns, and phytochemicals for climate-induced health impacts; assess and prioritize adaptation strategies to mitigate climate-induced health risks and estimate the economic burden of climate-induced health risks in India.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Development India-specific exposure-risk functions for climate hazards to prioritize climate actions.
Identification of protective effects of changes in dietary patterns for climate-induced health impacts
Programming in R (or Python or any related language) to mathematically infer underlying relationships in health datasets.
Check for data inconsistencies programmatically using regular expressions. Additionally, compensate statistically for missing data.
Create meaningful plots in R (or Python or any related language) to demonstrate dependent and independent Variables
Summarizing statistical results in clear and concise dashboards
Prepare draft reports/papers based on the data analysis.
Collaborate in preparing technical reports and journal articles.
Perform other duties as required by the project.
